Happy Monday Boosters,
If you have the day off in observance of the holiday, we hope you're enjoying some rest and relaxation before the busy week ahead. As we continue to welcome new members, our next step is to introduce the section leaders for the Percussion section. The Percussion section includes battery instruments (snare drums, tenor drums, bass drums, and cymbals) and front ensemble/pit instruments (mallet percussion like xylophones, marimbas, and vibraphones, as well as electronic instruments). Battery instruments are meant to be played while moving, whereas pit instruments are stationary and played on the sidelines.

Volunteers Needed
Continuing with the other roles where we seek the help of parents and guardians, allowing you to choose where you feel most suited. Next is the Pit Crew. These volunteers support the band by transporting, setting up, and removing instruments, props, and other equipment from the field during competitions and performances. They are crucial for a band's backstage operations, managing logistics to ensure a smooth and successful show. These volunteers assist with loading and unloading gear before and after events, placing instruments and props on the field, and clearing them away. We need a volunteer with experience in driving an ATV while transporting percussion instruments to/from the football stadium. Click HERE To Volunteer.
Furthermore, The Band Boosters manage the Concessions Stand, and the funds raised support our program. It's our second largest fundraiser, which is why we need every Marcher's family to contribute a few shifts.
We require at least 16 volunteers to help feed such a large crowd.
This week's football game is expected to be one of the most attended games of the season. If you are new to Mount Vernon High School, Friday's Football game is known as the "Battle of the Highway." Our football team, the MV Majors, will be playing against their rivals, West Potomac High School - the Wolverines. Click HERE To Volunteer.
Your assistance is crucial, and we can't thank you enough for your time.
Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have any questions.
