Tonight is a big night for music in Mount Vernon! 🎶 Both the Walt Whitman Middle School and Mount Vernon High School band programs will take the stage to perform pieces they’ve been working hard on over the past several weeks.

Thanks to the incredible growth of both programs this year, our directors are excited to present two separate concerts, giving each group its own moment to shine.

Both concerts are free and open to the entire Mount Vernon community, and we invite you to join us in celebrating our talented students. We also welcome your support behind the scenes to help make this evening a smooth and successful one for everyone involved.

It takes a village to make our band program shine!

Whether you can lend a hand at the concession stand or help move equipment with the pit crew, every volunteer makes a huge difference.

2025 Winter Color Guard Camp is officially in the books! 🎉

Over the weekend, our dedicated Winter Color Guard members and staff poured in 20 hours of focused work—sharpening technique, building strength, and, most importantly… STAGING!

The growth, energy, and commitment on display were incredible, and we can’t wait to see what this talented group has in store for the Mount Vernon community this season.

They’re excited to kick off their largest fundraiser of the season — Sponsor a Day of My Spinning! 🎉

This fundraiser is especially important because it has the potential to cover most of the cost of their trip to the AIA Championships. Every donation brings our Winter Color Guard team one spin closer to the floor!
