As we reach the midpoint of our marching season and prepare for the exciting lineup of upcoming competitions — including the Virginia Band & Orchestra Directors Marching Band Assessment — we want to thank everyone for their continued flexibility and support.

With every great season comes a few changes, and we’re excited to share one update: an additional concession date has been added to our schedule!

This is due to our MVHS Varsity Field Hockey team advancing to the playoffs, and we’re proud that Mount Vernon High School will be hosting the game. Let’s come together once again to show our school spirit and keep the concession stand running strong! 💪🏽🏑

 It takes a village to make our band program shine!

Whether you can lend a hand at the concession stand or help move equipment with the pit crew, every volunteer makes a huge difference.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already signed up for a volunteer position!

Our MVHS Marching Majors will perform in their 3rd competition at the USBANDS Marching In The Park hosted by Severna Park High School Music!

📍 Location: Severna Park High School, Severna Park, MD 21146

We welcome all family, friends, and community members to come out and cheer on our amazing students as they showcase their talent, dedication, and hard work. 💙

Volunteer Support Needed

To ensure a safe and successful competition, we need adult chaperones and pit crew members to join the students.

Chaperones: Per FCPS guidelines for 2025–26, all parent volunteers must be vetted by the county. Please submit all names by Wednesday, October 15th, for the October 18th competition.

Once registered in the system, you’ll be eligible to volunteer for all events throughout the year (across all subject areas).Please sign up via Sign-Up Genius, and Mr. Bacz will provide you with the FCPS registration link.
