What an incredible weekend for our MVHS Marching Majors – “Free As A Bird”!

At their first competition of the season, the North Stafford HS Big Blue Invitational, the event was moved indoors due to weather, but that didn’t stop our marchers from shining. They performed this year’s selections — including original music by Luke McMillan, “Blackbird” by the Beatles, and “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd — and earned First Place Overall in the Blue Division A3!

The Majors also swept their captions with:

• 🏆 First Place in General Effects

• 🏆 First Place in Auxiliary/Color Guard

• 🏆 First Place in Music

If you missed it, you’ll have another chance to cheer them on this Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the USBands Marine Corps Invitational held at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD.

Concessions are the most important fundraiser for our band program.

The money raised from food and drink sales directly supports every student—covering the costs of new instruments, travel expenses, show design, and more.

If your child is in the band, we ask you to please consider volunteering just a few hours of your time.
